Congratulations to our classmate, Emma for being our Catholic Leader for the month of September.
We had another amazing week with our Pre-K friends! The children all play very nicely together and some mornings our carpet looks like Christmas morning! A lot of interaction is going on in our room each day as the children are learning to share with others and wait their turn. They all really do a great job!
This week we thanked God for our hands and focused on the color red. The children loved the story The Little Red Hen and many noticed how the different characters in the book were not nice to the red hen. It was a great example of the importance of learning about kindness even at this young age. The children colored a red hen and nest that is out in our hallway for our color display. The children also enjoyed working with different textures in Religion class as they glued them to a collage.
Next week in Religion, we will end our first unit by learning about the sense of taste. The children will know that God gave them the sense of taste and to be grateful for it. We will talk about the color GREEN as we listen to stories, make a project and hear a poem about green. Next Friday, please have your child bring in a GREEN item from home. Encourage your child to find the item on their own. This will aid in color recognition and also create enthusiasm for what is happening in school.
Our hallway bulletin board is "spooktacular" with the children's own hand print spiders and foot print ghosts. Thanks to Ms Casey and her creative efforts.
The children are arriving with big smiles and are ready to learn. Please remind your children to be good listeners at school so that all of us can have fun together!! Please continue to remind your child to tell us if they need to use the bathroom and be sure to have them use the bathroom before they come to school each day. This way they won't miss any of their very important free play time in the morning.
